Nowadays it's not uncommon for major companies to hire graffiti artists, but it sure was in 1995. That's when Kryptonite Lock Company first hired me to paint.

This was back when "Bomb the System in NYC was the first and only graffiti oriented store in the nation. There was only one graf mag. Street Art wasn't popular or loved like it is now. It was only cool to those of us who did it, everyone else laughed at us, not only was there no respect for the style, doing graffiti meant being on a road to nowhere. It was a thoroughly unsustainable hobby. Galleries weren't featuring street art like they are now.

That's why I wanted to shout out those who were inspired by graffiti before it became cool, those who weren't afraid t to say they liked it.
